Energy techniques
Our vision is to make energy therapy tools available
to everyone who is willing and seeking to make changes to their
emotional states. We believe in helping people to set themselves
free from negative emotions and offer them a means to empower themselves,
to envision and build their own lives, and thereby achieve a higher
level of emotional well being.
Our aim is to promote and provide EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques),
a self-help method of relieving 'stuck' mental states such as anger,
anxiety, guilt, grief, obsessive thinking, and much more. This method
is quick, easy, gentle, safe, and lasting in its effects. Insights
often occur soon after applying the technique, where formerly there
have been blockages caused by the emotional distress.
Some of the most widely known energy therapies are Emotional Freedom
Techniques (EFT), Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT), Therapeutic
Touch (TT), and Thought Field Therapy (TFT).
Energy therapies and techniques focus on the body's energy systems
as they relate to emotions, behavior, psychological health, etc.
These energy systems include the electrical activity of the nervous
system, acupuncture meridians and others.
Energy therapies include approaches that utilize the body’s
energy systems in the treatment of emotional/mental problems. Energy
therapies also involve procedures that specifically address the
underlying dynamic aspects of problems. These include muscle testing,
energy checking, and processes such as stimulating acupuncture meridians
(by holding, rubbing, tapping, etc.), undertaking specified body
movements, and use of affirmations and assertions.
With Energy Therapies we are on the edge of a revolutionary break-through
and a paradigm shift from traditional concepts of emotional/mental
health and healing. It is founded on the concept that distressing
emotions, upsetting traumatic memories, or self-limiting thoughts
are connected with a disruption in the subtle energy systems of
the mind and body. Many energy therapy practitioners focus on the
relationship between the body’s life force, consciousness,
thought, and spirituality
EFT is compatible with many traditional approaches to therapy.
In addition it is applicable to a wide range of areas including
physical health, mental/emotional health, education and sports.
EFT achieves observable and measurable results rapidly, and without
causing undue emotional distress.
Background
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) evolved from Thought
Field Therapy, which was created by US clinical psychologist Roger
Callahan.
Callahan discovered that stimulating acupressure / energy points
lead to psychological relief for an anxious client, and through
experimentation was able to discover a series of useful points.
Gary Craig, who further evolved this method named this Emotional
Freedom Techniques (EFT), and achieved excellent results with this
approach on a wide range of emotional as well as physical problems.
EFT has been successfully applied to treat a wide range of emotional
problems and issues, including anxiety, fears, phobias, trauma,
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, grief, anger, guilt, etc.
Anyone can learn EFT and use it to help themselves. While some
problems require persistence with the technique over a period of
time, and some will require the intervention of a skilled therapist,
many people can learn EFT and apply it successfully to the general
problems and stresses of living.

The existing
theory is that "the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption
in the body's energy system."
In simplest terms, EFT is an emotional form of acupuncture except
that needles are not used. Instead, we tap with the fingertips to
stimulate certain meridian points while the client is "tuned
in" to the problem.
The subtle energies that circulate throughout the body have been
largely ignored (until recently) by western scientists. With EFT,
however, we consider these subtle energies to be the front running
cause of emotional upsets. EFT generates results that are FAR beyond
those of conventional methods, such as psychiatry. EFT often provides
relief for a very wide range of physical and emotional symptoms.
Evidence of a link between our physical ailments and our emotional
issues are well documented.
We at Behaviour Changes have been using EFT as a simple but effective
energy / meridian therapy for resolving most psychological problems.
Phobias, depression, panic attacks, controlling pain, fears, addictions,
traumatic memories, guilt, grief and physical ailments have been
elegantly relieved with EFT therapy. Even though EFT violates just
about every conventional belief out there, the results remain remarkable.
EFT isn't perfect, of course. We don't get 100% results all the
time. But it usually works well and the results are sometimes spectacular.
It often works where nothing else will.
